This year the main guest of “KTU Career Days 2010 Afterparty” is a member of Berlin‘s minimal techno and IDM Royal family - Pantha du Prince (a.k.a. Hendrik Weber). Having released his new album on Rough Trade (UK) records in February, the talented producer and DJ will cast the spell of life-pulsating melodies affecting every joy-seeking participant of the event.

Hendrik Weber claims that music slumbers in all matter: any sound, even silence, is already music. The mission, then, must be to render audible what is unheard and unheard of: black noise, a frequency that is inaudible to man. Some tracks on Pantha du Prince’s third album — “Black Noise” — are based on field recordings and improvisations produced in the Swiss Alps. He transforms the materiality of the fundamental sounds found or recorded on the Alps (natural noises and avant-garde folklore) into an expansive and highly speculative acoustic architecture. “Black Noise” blurs a whole number of antitheses: acoustic v. synthetic, powerful v. fragile, epic v. bashful, catchy v. mysterious. These tracks are so beautifully sculpted and impeccably structured that may remind of classical compositions. However that's not to say they proceed with the cold and calculated precision that can sometimes push techno into the grey area of the spectrum. No, these are tracks that live and breathe, and above all make you want to dance.

Referred to as a romantic conceptualist, Pantha du Prince had also released the albums “Diamond Haze” (2004) and “This Bliss” (2007) - the latter has been utterly successful and has established Hendrik Weber among the highlights of the union between indie and electronic dance music. Highly anticipated and much appreciated album “Black Noise” once again proves the raw talent of this unique musician.

This year in the annual event “KTU Career Days 2010 Afterparty” along with the main guest from Germany we will also rejoice at the performances of Lithuanian artists: Soy Farm and Gvidas from the dj crew “Partyzanai”, StereoLite, Marius Banga and Rubskie. Positively charged atmosphere and the range of artists will satisfy even the most choosey electronic music lovers.
